Post for a religion debate group, the question again of what we know and do not know.

What if Sonic the Hedgehog created the universe and people who believe in Gods are going to hell? Frankly given how little evidence is presented for the faith in any religion, it could be taken as just as likely that Sonic created it than any God created it.
In all honesty apart from some sporadic healing which is plagued by claims of fraud, and some awareness of psychic possibility, there is little reason to believe in anything supernatural. Sure a natural assumption that there may be other things, other dimensions, other places with different rules. Possibilities...
However to put faith in a certain creed and code of conduct and back it by the sword, threatening fire and brimstone....
Now look, if we had some rational laws, which we do to some extent, I can imagine backing them with the state and even some kind of church. Sure Church a place to meet with your neighbors and share cake and coffee and listen to music and hear a lecture. It all makes sense.
However when you get into talk about "Satan" ruling the world, Killing infidels, pedophilia and rape, robbing your neighboring societies, we can see here that religion has now become a problem.
Telling everyone they are going to hell unless they are perfect might be making some people become suicidal too.
So I question religion's morality, and if religion on Earth is really a good thing.
I can see the benefits of a Temple, of a code of ethics, of interesting stories to highlight important ideas. Every culture has this. I can see the benefit of having people investigate unusual events like prayers being answered and people healing spontanesouly after visiting holy sites. I can see the benefit of giving some people hope by having a temple dedicated to people like them living eternal life afterwards.
I just want to point out that religion is not always working, Christianity has been soaked in blood, Islam is soaked in blood, it's not necessarily helping families and neighbors to get along. It is not necessarily breeding peace, with dictates on the books that people deserve to die, some religious people are thus brainwashed to kill each other and genocide whole societies. It might even be a contributing factor to a coming nuclear war.
So I am a skeptic. And I ask you, what evidence do you have that religion is good, or bad, what evidence do you have that a God or something like THAT exists, what evidence do you have that yuo are right about your God being the one and Only God?
Sure you might have seen some interesting coincidences, but did it always work or did you just go through a phase where things seemed to be happening? Is this a sign that you are not right? Maybe if you had the right attitude, code of conduct, behaviors, maybe then the coincidences would be happening all the time.
Don't get me wrong I have seen things from asking God to see them, interesting things, but do Christians or Muslims OWN God? Does it have to be the Christian God answering my prayer or the Muslim one?
I have always wondered what the true God or Gods were and if I would ever know them or It.
No has convicted me of any religion in any fair arguement, just menaced by Christians as a boy and by Muslims as an adult, I bowed to irrattional arguements as a young man. Now I am a mature adult and I demand proper research, proof, a quest for knowledge.
Take heed of my words. It could just be nature responding to us on some level. There might be no God at all, no personality behind it. Just some laws of coincidences, or alien races.
