Nixon has presided over the greatest wage gain in us history, been attacked by greedy middle easterners, and nevertheless made peace with East Asia.
He was an interesting figure, a possible hero, a conservative worker's dream, a poor boy who made it big in washington.
Then the vultures came swooping down, looking to feast on the flesh of this poor man who had made such success for American workers. Not content with slashing American workers's wages through the oil embargo, reactionary religious forces felt they had to bust Nixon for his political machinations.
While any American president might have done the things that were done at Watergate, elite hatred of the 'people's prince' was so severe that they felt they had to impeach Nixon for spying on Democrats.
Never mind the fact the democrats were spying on Nixon, and Republicans, and doing all kinds of dirty tricks against them.
No now we had to hear the democrats anguishing and gnashing their teeth at the conservative leader, hating him for making peace, hating his high wages for workers, hating his effort to break the oil cartel.
They piled up like a gang of flies in a gas station toilet, clinging to the light on the wall and shitting all over anyone who had anything nice to say about Nixon.
The result was the Ford presidency, and after that the Carter one, and Carter made sure American worker's wages were cut.
