They didnt 'believe in God,slandered him and terrorized the belivers and were so ungrateful

Yes the wicked .  They have done this before. Claims Yah.
Refused to believe, become wishful ingrates, and then God made them depraved to punish the world.

And hopeing that some people would kill the wicked ingrates.
